About the Artist

I create art that can be touched and held. I focused primarily on glass blowing for the last 15 years in Eugene, OR. With glass blowing opportunities limited during the pandemic, I began to learn ceramics, and most recently added metal sculpture to my portfolio. Until 2023, I focused exclusively on functional art, but over the last year I began to expand into expressions of emotion, pattern, and movement inspired by my major loves: my wife and family (birth and chosen), my spiritual connection, my dog Maggie, and the Oregon Coast.

In November 2022, I retired from a career in Higher Education Admission and Enrollment when my work began to interfere with my time for art. My art education started as a kid with woodworking in my father’s basement in Tennessee, where I first learned the love of creating, and the love of having my own tools. I have studied at Pilchuck Glass School, Corning Museum of Glass, Eugene Glass School, Lane Community College, Clay Space Eugene, and independent study with local sculptors and artists.
